Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Shuto is a navigation application designed for drivers seeking curated routes including scenic day drives and motorway loops. The App provides:

• Turn-by-turn navigation with speed limits and camera alerts
• Curated route discovery with Day and Night profiles
• Private convoy features with real-time position sharing and push-to-talk voice
• Traffic updates and hazard reports from the community

2. Your Responsibilities

Safe Driving

Account Security

• You must be at least 18 years old to use Shuto
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
• You may not share your account with others or create multiple accounts

Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose or to promote illegal activity
• Submit false or misleading reports (hazards, speed cameras, etc.)
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users through convoy features
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the App's source code
• Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the App
• Upload viruses, malware, or any malicious content
• Impersonate another person or entity

4. Convoy Features

Private Convoys Only

Convoys are private groups created by invitation only. Shuto does not offer public convoy discovery or joining. By creating or joining a convoy:

• You consent to sharing your real-time location with convoy members
• You understand that convoy voice uses push-to-talk (PTT) and is not recorded
• You agree to maintain respectful communication with convoy members
• You acknowledge that convoy sessions have a maximum duration and member limits (8 users for standard accounts, 12 for premium)

Convoy Etiquette

• Use PTT voice responsibly and avoid excessive chatter
• Do not share inappropriate, offensive, or illegal content
• Respect other drivers on the road - convoys do not grant any special privileges
• We reserve the right to terminate convoy sessions or accounts that violate these rules

5. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

No Warranty

The App is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to:

• Accuracy of navigation instructions, speed limits, or camera locations
• Real-time traffic information or hazard reports
• Availability or reliability of the service
• Fitness for a particular purpose

Limitation of Liability

6. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, route data, and software, is the property of Shuto or its licensors and is protected by UK and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes only.

7. Third-Party Services

The App may integrate with third-party services such as:

• OpenStreetMap (map data)
• Traffic data providers (TfL, National Highways)
• Apple MapKit or Google Maps SDK (map rendering)

These services are governed by their own terms and conditions. We are not responsible for their content, availability, or privacy practices.

8. Jurisdiction-Specific Features

Certain features may be disabled or restricted in jurisdictions where they are prohibited by law. For example:

• Speed camera alerts may be disabled in countries where such warnings are illegal
• Police position reporting is not available in any jurisdiction
• We reserve the right to restrict features based on your location

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or through an in-app notification at least 30 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the new Terms, you must stop using the App.

10. Account Termination

By You

You may delete your account at any time through the App's settings. Upon deletion:

• Your personal data will be deleted within 30 days
• Active convoy sessions will be terminated
• Any subscription or premium features will be forfeited (subject to refund policy)

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if:

• You violate these Terms or our Privacy Policy
• You submit false reports or abuse features
• You harass other users or engage in illegal activity
• Required by law or legal process

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
